As a young adult, Efthimia goes to her favourite place, the Greek Island of Kefalonia. Excited to visit with relatives again, she begins planning out her summer. Everything changes when she finds herself in a whirlwind romance with a modern-day Greek god named Alexandros. Her summer quickly becomes filled with passion, 

as the two fall in love.

When she returns home, they bridge the distance with frequent calls and hot, steamy vacations together.  Their future is unfolding perfectly.

Until it isn't.

After three summers, their relationship faces surprising adversity. Leaving Alex at the airport to fly home to Canada was never easy, but this time was the hardest yet. 

A devastating event shakes the world, and Efthimia is in the air as the 9/11 attacks destroy the World Trade Center. With her confidence now shaken, 

everything seems so uncertain.
